Books & Authors of Himachal Pradesh: Dr. Viram Singh received the Pahadi Poetry Award for the first time in 1983. In 1986, Mr. Keshav received the first Chandradhar Sharma 'Guleri' Award for Hindi literature. In 1986, Mian Goverdhan Singh received the first Y.S. Parmar Award for his outstanding Himachali cultural literature. In 1989 AD, Jaidev Kiran received the first Pahari Gandhi Baba Kanshi Ram Award for outstanding hill writing. In 1994, Bhawani Dutt Sharma received the first Pahari Shikhar Award for hill station, literature, and art. In 1958, Prakash Chand became the first educator to be honored with the Himachal Pradesh National Teachers Award. He served as the State Senior School's (Shimla) principal.
